Workshop on the Working Hours Act

Want to learn how to design a shift roster without being in violation of the Dutch Working Hours Act (ATW)? In only one day, learn all about the background, the most important rules, and the practical application of the ATW.

After you have completed this workshop, you will be able to design shift rosters that are always in compliance. That way you will avoid getting fined by the SZW Inspectorate. And more importantly: the employees will be working healthy shift patterns.

What knowledge and expertise will you gain from this workshop?

During this workshop on the Dutch Working Hours Act you will learn the following:

how to make maximum use of the available options under the Working Hours Act (ATW) without being in violation;
how to explain the rules under the ATW in a clear and understandable way. This will make interpretation disputes a thing of the past.

Programme for the workshop on the Working Hours Act

The workshop on the Dutch Working Hours Act consists of three parts:

The standards set under the ATW: you will learn about the problems and difficulties associated with designing rosters that comply with the ATW.
Interpretation of the parameters: the parameters are explained in accordance with the interpretation of the SZW Inspectorate (formally the Labour Inspectorate) based on the legislative principles, and clarified with examples and exercises. It is important that the course participants understands these parameters, can apply them, and can explain them to the employees and managers by the end of the workshop.
Analysis of specific shift planning problems: in your sector in connection with the ATW and the Working Hours Decree.
