What knowledge and expertise will you gain from this training course?
During the workforce planning certification course you will learn the following:
- the development and management of shift rosters in compliance with the statutory regulations, ergonomic rules (healthy scheduling), and other preconditions.
- how to assess shift plans for compliance with the Working Hours Act and how to explain that to others;
- how to apply the Déhora step-by-step shift roster design process in your own work situation. This results in an optimal alignment between the operational workload and the available workforce;

- effective communication with co-workers and management.
The workforce Planner certification course ends with an exam. After you pass the exam, you will be a certified workforce Planner.
Practical information
Knowledge anchoring
After completing the course, the participant will start to apply the new knowledge and skills within their own organisation. From past experience we know that new issues and questions often arise. In order to ensure the embedding of the knowledge and expertise, the participant will be given a work plan (toolkit) that can be used in such situations.
The output of the work plan can then be used as input for the knowledge anchoring session. During this session, the participants can share their experiences and discuss any problems they have encountered. The possible solutions can then be explored together with the trainer. At the same time, the previously acquired knowledge can be refreshed.
The manager of the planner will also be invited to take part in the knowledge anchoring session.
Knowledge session for managers
On the day of the knowledge anchoring session, the managers of the participants will be invited to attend the ‘The Role of Planning’ knowledge session. During this session, the issue of how a manager can contribute to successful workforce planning will be discussed. This discussion will also cover practical techniques that the manager can apply straightaway. The knowledge session will therefore provide concrete ways to optimise planning together with the planner. In addition, there will also be an opportunity to exchange views about the challenges in the field of workforce planning.
Diploma ceremony
After the knowledge anchoring session, the diploma award ceremony will be held. The managers of the participants will also be welcome to attend the ceremony.
Study load
The programme consists of four full lesson days, a morning exam, and a knowledge anchoring session. In addition to the lesson days, there is a study load of approximately four hours per week. Participants in the training course will also get a discount on the Working Hours Act online training module. This can be helpful during the preparation for the exam and afterwards in order to refresh the acquired knowledge (discount valid for 12 months).
Dates
The dates of the training will be agreed in mutual consultation.
