What knowledge and expertise will you gain from this workshop?
This workshop is based on Déhora’s extensive experience with capacity issues in healthcare. You develop a clear understanding of the choices that you face as a manager, as a planner, and as a duo team and the areas where you can make advances. The participants investigate the causes and interrelationships of their own capacity problems, with the help of the trainer. The approach is practical: what actions can the manager and planner take as a team in the short-term, and what opportunities are available in the medium-term? After this workshop, as a manager/planner duo, you will be able to identify a number of possible solutions and you will have a concrete action plan.
Programme
The teaching material is based on Déhora’s Deming Cycle. This focuses on continuous improvement of your healthcare planning. You will receive a list of questions in preparation. The answers are used during the session.

- Déhora’s Deming Cycle: continuous improvement of the planning activity;
- scope: the players and their role in capacity planning;
- manager and planner duo: role assignment in a winning team;
- identification of bottlenecks and opportunities: capacity planning and analysis;
- practical solution paths;
- managing based on hours and flexibility;
- plan of action.
