The Bachelor Minor in ‘Optimisation of Workforce Capacity Deployment’ covers all the essential subjects in the specific field of workforce planning. The unique combination with the Bachelor’s degree course in Business Administration means you can also earn ECTS credits as well. This is very useful, for example, if you want to go on to get a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the University of Applied Sciences SDO.
In addition, the course has been designed to enhance the interaction between theory and practice taking into account your specific work situation.
Programme
The Optimisation of Workforce Capacity Deployment course consists of four modules:
Module 1: Personal learning track
Module 2: Planning organisation and methods
- organisational and planning objectives;
- designing the planning organisation and planning process.
Module 3: Financial and workforce planning methods
- capacity planning;
- policy framework for shift planning management;
- cost-conscious planning techniques.
Module 4: Planning
- organisation of flexibility;
- shift roster design process;
- performance measurements and benchmark comparisons;
- legislation and regulations.
Practical information
Admission requirements
To enroll on this course you must have one of the following diplomas: A qualification at higher general secondary level (HAVO), pre-university level (VWO), or intermediate vocational level 4 (MBO level 4). For this course it is also advisable to have average arithmetic skills and a good command of the Dutch language. If you do not have one of the diplomas listed above, but have sufficient vocational experience and are over the age of 21, then you might qualify for admission under the HBO admission standards of the University of Applied Sciences SDO.
Duration
The Minor course lasts for a period of one year. During that period there are 10 full study days. In addition to the lectures, you will independently study the theory, and the practical implementation of the theory, with assignments designed to take into account your specific work situation. The programme has also been designed to combine learning with working and is therefore aimed specifically at people who are already working in a job.
