With the knowledge you acquire in this workshop you will be able to recognise the negative symptoms of working irregular hours, and you will be able to make conscious choices to preserve your vitality and health.

During the workshop on Vitality and Health and Irregular Shifts you will learn the following:

what the possible physical, social, and safety risks are of working irregular shifts;
you will be given useful tips on how to keep these risks to an absolute minimum.

Programme

The first part of the workshop on Vitality and Health and Irregular Shifts will deal with the physical aspects (sleep and diet). During the second part, the social aspect will be looked at (family life, lifestyle, sports). The main elements of the workshop are as follows:

Part 1: Sleep and food & drink

healthy sleeping and mealtime patterns;
general tips and strategies to make sure you sleep properly;
concrete sleeping tips for different types of shifts;
the health and safety risks of working night shifts;
general tips and strategies for healthy eating;
concrete dietary tips for different types of shifts;
dealing with alcohol and coffee.

Part 2: Lifestyle and social life

physical fitness and sports;
irregular working hours and socialising with family and friends;
time for relaxation and time for yourself.

Workshop based on scientific research

All the tips and advice given during the workshop on Vitality and Health and Irregular Shifts is based on scientific research. The trainer will make sure the way the information is presented during the workshop is as accessible as possible: the focus is on raising awareness and sharing practical tips and advice.
